Who Writes The Blogs?
Chelsea Boozer, junior Daily Helmsman news reporter at The University of Memphis, won a Hearst In-Depth Reporting award for the first article of the Inside the RSOs series about the Student Government Association executive officers receiving tuition and perks from student-paid funds.  She later won first place in Region 12's Mark of Excellence in-depth reporting award and first place in the 2011 Investigative Reporters and Editors student media award for the entire series. Since then, she has been interested in what elected SGA members do for The University and particularly how they spend their allotted budget, which solely consists of student-paid fees.

Chelsea, honor student and journalism major, has also served as president of the Society of Professional Journalists at The University of Memphis since the spring of 2009.  She is a student member of the Investigative Reporters and Editors and was selected as one in 75 participants in their 2011 Campus Coverage Project.   She interned at The Commercial Appeal in the summer of 2011. Also that summer, she studied war reporting in Germany for a month.

She graduated from Marion High School in May 2009 in the top 7 percent of her class as an honors graduate.  There she was Editor-In-Chief of The Patriot Expressions, senior class representative, Student Council senior representative, Teachers of Tomorrow vice present and Future Business Leaders of America secretary.
